Apples, And oranges.. But why Reason over FL?

ya, I am with you on that. You really need a midi controller just to work the plugin. That makes a huge difference. It sucks to use a mouse if you have a bunch of parameters you want to change at once. I have a couple dedicated midi controllers just for using plugins I hope to get kore soon...

Apples, And oranges.. But why Reason over FL?

ya I played on all the tritons and motifs and I was not impressed. Ya the Virus is great! BTW I am a real tweaky synth guy, I dive in to the oscillators and filters and create my own stuff. Thats why I like the 201 its real easy to tweak. Screw presets. You dont think Massive rocks...

Apples, And oranges.. But why Reason over FL?

"Seems like you almost have a naploean complex about hardware" lol, thats a good point. But I must say I just went through most of the synths at sweetwater (and they have a ton we can play with) and I only found 2 that I thought sounded any where close to what plugins like massive or any of the...

Apples, And oranges.. But why Reason over FL?

um, no software win most times because of sound quality and flexibility. That being said I was playing on the minimoog voyager yesterday and it was amazing http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/VoyagerSEBM/

Apples, And oranges.. But why Reason over FL?

"HARDWARE WINS ALWAYS" Man no way. I can get my hands on about any hardware/software piece you can think of. and I would pick software 9 times out of 10.

    From MPC to Reason 3.0

"just producing FULLY with reason 3.0" Well I went from a yamaha qy10 to reason/pro tools. are you using your mpc as a MIDI controller for reason? That would be a good start. check out http://letscreatemusic.com/ for some great reason tutorials. Sign up for the trial. Are you quantizing the...

rza jocks the new mv 8800, talks about workin wit dre and shitalks fruity loops

"OS with lots of different processes as well as countless other hidden exe's, your registerty is still getting clogged with OS calls... After a year or 2 your still gonna have to clean ur resgitry or reinstall the OS to keep the computer running smoothly." I am also not knocking anyone! The...

rza jocks the new mv 8800, talks about workin wit dre and shitalks fruity loops

"software latency is unstable" I dont know if I would say that, you do need to optimize your system for audio. If done properly it can be very predictable. That is one reason why I like macs better as the low latency audio driver is built in to the OS at the kernel level, with windows you have...

rza jocks the new mv 8800, talks about workin wit dre and shitalks fruity loops

"NOOOOO latency!!!! absolutely." Well thats not true, everything has latency. Also if you have a decent sound card with asio drivers you can do just as good as an MPC, and anything under 5 is really not detectable.

rza jocks the new mv 8800, talks about workin wit dre and shitalks fruity loops

"hearing someone's opinion on hardware and software is always good" I agree but his point that software has more latency than hard is just not correct. You can get your software latency just as good if not better than hardware with the right audio card. Hardware has latency to.

thinking about going back to pc after many years of mac usage

"logic 8 is literally a month or two away" Um no. Sorry I wish this was true. There was an apple/logic/emagic rep in Sweetwater today and we asked them about Logic 8 and they said apple has not told us anything yet. They would know if it was a month away. That would be cool.

thinking about going back to pc after many years of mac usage
