Well I dunno if you own an MPC, but thats the same kinda bullshit Akai started pullin' once they were bought out by Numark. The 1000 experienced a lot of similar OS issues where new features were intentionally added later on so that the official street date could be placed as early as possible. -
Filtering ?
For me my filtering begins in the MPC so I utilize basic LP, BP, HP filters and play with the resonance if needed. Later once my sounds are tracked into Logic, I might use the Channel EQ to more precisely remove or boost particular freq's. -

Heres what I tend to do: 1. Find/choose quality sounds to begin with otherwise your just doing cleanup the entire time your trying to craft your sound. 2. Sample drums from vinyl whenever its applicable. This always adds a nice dusty organic feel. 3. LAYER. Layer your drum sounds. IMO the key to... -
