L beat me to it, i was gonna advise to do the same thing. You will also be able to view the name of the damaged driver there as well in order to search for the correct one to download online, however your bootdisc that came with your computer should have all these support files. -

I think it just depends, cuz i work solely with samples and I can use up 16 tracks personally. I agree with LDB, its usually overkill to go beyond but like Sanova said limitations are no good. I think the most important selling points are the max polyphony, accepted sample rates, available... -
