    i would build off of those programs....i would built a hardware setup (keyboards, racks, mpc) and run it all through pro tools or logic....then if im feeling some reason sounds or whatever i would just rewire reason into pro tools or logic.....then i have the option to use the hardware as well...

    as for production alone, you have many options....would you rather sequence your beats on a keyboard or a computer? If its a computer then really all u need is a MIDI controller keybaord, and rackmount gear. UNLESS, you want a really nice keyboard with semi-weighter or fully-weighted...
