Only ever had 2 strikes on soundcloud, one for a midi remake of "Eleanor Rigby" by the Beatles years ago, and a recent remix I did of an Amapiano track that was in somebodies copyrighted mix.

@BiggChev Dope flip, I really like it. Sometimes all you need is a sample, a drum beat and a bassline.

I remember logging into my EDM account yeaaaars later to several strikes - one track was actually no longer there, and one of my actual tracks had a tonne of plays where someone had picked it up and added to a playlist.

Surprised the account was still standing.

This is why I'm hesitant to post sampled beats. Similar to you, my most played house track is heavily sampled and I'm just waiting for it to get flagged lol

I'm feeling like I'm gonna chuck em up on YouTube, as I feel it's likely a lot more lenient and or leaves stuff up just demonetized. SoundCloud I'll save for fully composed stuff.

Tho I'm led to believe there's some weird copyright shit going on with YouTube where they will block your vid and say they don't want to get involved. Not sure.

Potentially got a few tings coming out soon, have provided a couple beats to an engineer peer who wants them for his rapper/project. They contain samples. But have it from a seasoned pro that clearing samples are sometimes a lot easier than it appears.

We'll see...

I think youtube is harsher than soundcloud. But don't quote me on that. I have had tracks that were banned worldwide to suddenly becoming available in a limited number of countries. I have some remixes that I cannot get ad revenue from(like I get ad revenue anyway) but they are allowed to be played.
