I really like this sample! The intro transitions really well into the main groove. Then inverse of that transition from the "verse" could be a bit smoother though.

There's a 2000s Ludacris feel to this that I really like - kinda like a beat Kanye did for him that has that southern bounce/funk. Really enjoyed this.

Just joined- thanks for having me. Just started a few weeks ago.
Trying to figure out Beat Manager- doesn't seem to see my mp3s.
Hope this is okay.
Thank all mjRmiRRor
There are some good elements about this, like the way you programmed the drums, and I rather liked the snare you picked, but overall it felt busy, distorted, and disjointed - you can do better. There was like a synth sound fighting against the sax sound and then occasionally this like, synth lead sound that would come in and clash. I think whatever was going on in the first 6 seconds was something workable - I woulda taken that and put some drums over, thrown some bass in there and started from there.

Interesting. I really liked the first phrase. That sub/808/bass thing is fucking FOUL. Sounds like an 808 with a long release, chorus, and some distortion. Either way, that shit would probably rattle the screws off my car. The sizzling snare is cool, but I would have like something with more of a crack layered. Unfortunately, you lost me around the 0:32 mark. The cartoon esque foley and brassy synth patch just aint working for me. Also, that open hi hat/ride really tires the ears out. This is a wild beat, even the parts I don't appreciate.

@Tomblr

I really like the choice of drums. That natural room on the snare is my favourite type of snare sound. The change up around 0;55 is really cool. I think adding some more elements and enriching the arrangement would make this a really epic beat.

Thank you kindly for the honest feedback man
What you mean by more elements tho?
More different sequences or more instruments or change ups inside of a sequence?

By more elements I mean; building out the harmonic and melodic quality of the tune. Adding more instruments, not too much, in strategic places to emphasis certain parts or make something stand out more.

Even doubling certain chops in certain places can help to add rhythm and groove. Playing around with panning and filters can also help fill out the sound spectrum as well.

Thanks for the feedback- I appreciate the time you took and your thoughts. Just wanted to mention- I found your entry into the latest Beat contest to be my favorite. Simple- but the sounds all came together inspired me to want to spit (which I don't even really do anymore).
