but then againnnnnnnnnnn

but then again then again, isn't everything sampled to death already? so should sampling be ILLEGALIZED??!?!?! go ahead folks. fight.

Thats exactly the beat that came to my mind when I heard it. But I decided to shut my mouth because at one point there will always be some "limit" that is OK for some, not OK for others. To me this is way too close to this one but heh who am I to talk.

Also, fun fact / #Don'tWannaBeatAnAlreadyDeadHorse , but I heard one of Swayye beat on a DJ Pain beat selling page......... I feel less shitty about him leaving I guess.

but noooooooooo armani didn't deserve his winnnn let's shit on hi- I'm only kidding, no one cares. + tbf I wouldn't have entered as many battles if it wasn't for beating him anyway. he was the plastic messi to my inner cristiano illaldo.

nah but as soon as I saw his wakanda forever attitude ik something was up. you just can't be that good and not cocky. at best, you're cocky and you hide it very poorly like @Iron Keys which btw, congrats on ur 2nd place. funny how the same beat beat us both up like, if I had radin outdone this could've been a iron v arvin final. you experimentin with ur style, I notice?

and congrats to everyone else who placed btw. @radinbrmusic @crog85 etc. and @K-waz get your shit together brother :ROFLMAO:

ig folks can let it slide if no one's really mad about it. again it gets pretty philosophical at the end of the day. another hilarious discussion is; can you ask AI to create a soul/jazz record, and then sample it into a hip-hop beat? will that be legitimate for a battle? cuz shit, in the real world u CAN use that without havin to pay the real musicians behind the sample cuz there are no real musicians, it's all yours. so if anything, AI-made samples are more legit than actual samples? what are u gonna sue me for? plagiarism? I thought there was art in that.

anyway, that's just my 2 cents. 48 more and I'll start to sound like K-waz.

Thanks for the love you are all showing my beat.

I had honestly been feeling like it was a little lacking!

Oh I see... because I used a sample I got penalized because y'all recognize it. I never heard Kid Cudi ior 50 Cent version. That sample too dope. Don't let me start putting everybody samples up (not really I can care less) I thought @Iron Keys beat was fire and @crog85 beat was fire too. I use that sample before but Im not going to say what it is ;)

Ohhh didn't realise it was Kwaz's beat was thinking it was the guy who won beat.

Ftr I can't remember who I voted for in the final between Crog and Kwaz, I liked both beats equally, but I think i went kwaz just because I appreciated the musicality, because I thought it was composed

@K-waz i never heard 50 and kid whoevers version either. You know how many times I sample only to hear the same sample on somebody's record? Even 90s record im like "oh damn". The fact is, everyone is sampling the same ass shit. I can guarantee there's cats on the ILL who sample andre Navarro from youtube. Youtube sampling is coo but remember, a million other bedroom hobbyist are flipping the same shit. The saturation is ridiculous. A million fucking beat makers. A million mediocre mfs with sloppy drums all sippin tea and nodding their heads with hipster vibes making their sp404 stutter. Even the ILL, its full of meh beats. I digressed little, but yeah. If you dont want these sample geeks calling you out, try digging for vinyl. You'll find tons of deep cuts that youtube doesn't even have.

Kwaz, aside from the sample choice, the beat sounds authentic. All the other "boombap" sounds like McDonald's advertisement music trying to appeal to urban Americans.

I think the issue with beats like that, is, if you're making a record you're putting out there for sales/plays, do whatever

But I think, here in battles, where it's a lot about originality, skill, creativity... sometimes it feels a bit cheap when someone just slaps drums over a pre-existing song.

It's quite different to sampling something, chopping it up, re-imagining it. Even if some aspects of it remain in tact.

The equivalent is... let's say we did rap battles here, and someone submitted them just reciting one of Redman's songs.

It's like that William Bell record that's been sampled a lot... fucking love it, love the beats, but i hate hearing it on too many beats, it just sounds cheap and like no one had an original idea - pretty sure the drums even feel the same.

And I'll be honest, on my production journey, realising some of my favorite most revered producers basically just put drums over a pre-existing song. I lost some respect for record, thinking 'what a genius melody' etc. But nah, just chucked drums on it.
