Mix Battles ?

I have an idea , what if we had a mix battle too ? I mean if this is wrong then how could a mixer test himself ? Many forums have Beat battles but i dont think theres any forum with Mix battles .
it should have themes like beat this , for example admin/moderator can choose/make an unmixed beat or hard to mix beat , then put it on ILLmuzik , then after 1 day or week every mixed version will be listened and the bests and the worsts will be revealed . Or another theme will be a mixed beat that's gonna be on ILLmuzik , then mixer will have to add their own effects and mixed versions will be on site , so after a while people can vote to the dopest version of that beat . Also the ILL can ask for an effect like Delay+Reverb and the version with the best Delay+Reverb will win .

I found solutions For most problems that i could think of , like where to find beats and which daw will they work on , mix battle should have an extra part , ILLiens should send beats in daw format ( ex. .flp ) and beats must only be made by free instruments that the daw has and the drums can only be picked from 1 free pack that can be downloaded from ILLmuzik.com or a link posted in battle page . So one of the beats will be picked and posted , mixer will battle . The daws will change every week , like Week 1 : Fl studio , Abelton . Week 2 : Cubase , Pro tools ...

A Lot Of Variables There Pal Plus What About Us Who Use The Less Popular DAWs We Would Be Excluded Through No Fault Of Our Own. A Few Months Ago I Found An Archive Online Of Song Packs That You Could DL Individually Each Pack Contained The Unmixed Single Wav Track-Outs For The Song Eg. Drums , Bass , Lead , Vocals & The Full Finished Mix So You Can Compare Or Have A Rough Guide To See How Your Progressing Against The Songs Original Mix If I Can find The Link Ill Send Ya It , It Was All Free To Use For Educational Purposes IE You Can Use It To Practise Your Craft But You Don't Have Permission To Release It As Your Own

First of all mixers can't test themselves against other people in anyways , i mean after beat battles i found out i am a good beatmaker , but how can i mixer find that out ? they can never see how Others mixed the same song they mixed you know ? i personally believe in college education , but they will have to know if they are good mixers anyways .

actually the mixers are getting excluded through a no fault of their own anyways , They don't have any battles right

? at least we can help most of them with this plan and then think about the little population of mixers using other daws . though i thought of having a special battle every 2 month for other daws when i was writing that .

Yeah I Hear Ya On That I Shoulda Of Said This More Clearly Before I Meant That There Is An Archive Of Track-out Packs That Would Be Perfect For Doing The Type Of Thing You Were First On About Cos Everyone Has The Same Content To Work With Just Don't Get What DAW You Use Has To Do With It If Its File Type Then That's An Easy Fix Just Allow Embeds From The Main Music Platforms
Not Disagreeing On The Idea You Had Because The Standard Of A Mix Is Hard To Put Into Is It Good Or Bad Especially If You Work Alone As I Do
If I Can Track The Link Down ( The One I Was Referring To Before) Would You Willing To DL The Relative Stems ,Mix Them How You Would Mix Il Do The Same & We Can Both Upload Our End Results Up On Here & See If A Few Others Will Give A Verdict On Whos They Prefer
Sort Of Like A Beta Test For Your Proposed Idea There No Better Way To See If Something Will Work Than To Try It Out

It's a good idea though to test everyone's mixing skills but the issue is how to get all the track to everyone, like @C4NTK33P5T1LL said. We can't send individual tracks because it would make it more difficult for some to line up the clips or whatever.

Unless each battle we specify that it's for only Ableton users, or FL users, etc.

maybe you can make a beat and export wav file outta each pattern you know ? i mean the kicks on one wav , the snares on one wav , pianos , chords ... and let them mix it together , or maybe let them arrange the beat by themselves

That's what I meant but then there's lots of files to upload. I'd like to know from a few more members what they think.

One of the reasons i wrote this was the fact that I'm sick of "Beat" Battles that you should Mix your beat to win em . in a Studio they don't listen to your Mixing skill to hire you as "Producer" right ?

Now what would really be dope is that the producer's will pick someone to team up with and make something sick together and have "Team Battles"!!! Like I give u my drums and u do the rest! Now that would be dope

wow - this is a great idea! I think goin one step further, n couple steps back, nabbin theme songs (such as dr who, or dragon ball, or anything picked by @Fade or whoever runs it) and/or like @ArvinArmani says, unmixed basic beat or tune, then the battle is mixing the tune etc provided into a remixed beat, and the winner, obviously, would be most votes as to fav remixed version

This will help everyone who participates in mixing/remixing

and churn out some extremely dope beats! Especially if the tune provided ends up being a famous tune/theme such as game of thrones theme song etc! lol Can use provided tune, and either use it, or redo it using piano roll etc (piano roll in fl studio-to use keyboard in daw to record sounds from plugins n such to emulate the tune or theme) - Or can be stricter n say must use provided beat/theme/tune and mix/remix a diff beat version - This sounds as if itd actually be pretty amazing imo

I say provided/picked theme/tune because it would allow us to build an entire beat around it for the remix/mix instead of beginning with a beat and itd be easier for whoever is running it - (they may not have all those daws etc) But initial way would be great also!

As for the daws - im not sure if could even use a diff one- id have to dl em all n dont think have nuff space to do that lol...could pirate rest, but cubase is pure mac isnt it? Have windows

But i do feel ya on the technicality of doing it that way! It would help n teach us to use whatever, however, needed, building a sick beat outta a provided basic one - in separate formats etc

I like it alot, but had to throw the other basic idea of doing a remix battle as well

but yea, so all can eventually participate, can do one week thats abelton, one week thats fl studio mixer battle, cubase mixer battle one week etc, if decide to go that way

Nice idea, maybe it could be a beat of some of us. @Fade could open up a thread, where we could upload our beat in a mp3 format and he picks the beat. He could contact that producer and ask him to upload the stems or single track outs and then provide it for all as a download link in a zip file (they can reach up to 500mb!). Everyone mixes it and then uploads it again as a mp3 file.
So basically it's split into 2 parts: Beat uploading & picking by fade OR us (within one day) and 2nd by uploading the trackouts, providing them to all and then the mixing battle can begin.
But its kinda hard to upload all tracks, big size for those who dont have that fast internet. Another thoughts?
