What's good illMuzik. My name's Idasa Tariq, and I'm a communications designer by trade and love making music. I'm familiar with this community just never joined back when it started. When I started making beats back in 2002 (15 years old), I was active on a site called h1phop.com. Fast forward 15 years, it's dope to see that this community is still thriving and popping!

I came across the board from Googling "social media for beat making", and really have just needed to be around more producers/audiopreneurs that live and breathe this game.

Just got Farnell's new horn stacks and a Dilla drum kit, bout to see what I can cook up.

Cheers, dope ass beats and positive vibes to all of you. Word!

Welcome @BeatJawn Idasa and what genres do you produce?

I started out with sampling/boom bap, then moved to my own hybrid of soul-boombap-sampling and trap-drummed/slow soul

Half these names I just made up right now to give context lol. I mainly produce for "conscious artists", or for me, cats that got a message and can inspire regardless of their affiliations

You're good then :) (i think, i haven't tried that kit). The one I'm talking about has around 40 kicks, 60 snares and 20ish perc sounds as well as some loops. Most of the kit is salvageable, but it's just a tedious process having to open up each sample an applying a fade out.
There's a pretty decent 9th wonder kit around there (the sounds are pretty raw, to me that's a plus); If you're looking for more free kits check out Bo1nda's as well as DJ Pain 1 (you got to do some digging on his site) or search around reddit there's a whole sub dedicated to drum kits (although I personally didn't have much luck with that one).
