A Quesion For Those Who Use More Than 1 Sampler....

hey kingcole. Currently I'm running a MV8000 into a RS7000 (no midi, straight audio). What I basically do is chop and sequence my samples in the MV while I do the drums on the RS7000. At the end, If I need to record any of the finalized material I'd do it straight into the 808ex. If you're...

    Jazzmutant

would this work with ableton live? 1. If u order from their website, it looks like they dont ship to America. 2. It costs a little more than a new MPC 4000. No Thank you.

Is the Korg electribe for hip hop?

the ESX sequencer is a bit limited, but I record all the audio from a performance directly into a 808ex and it comes out perfect. Ahh, God bless multitrack recorders.

Howd you get your first sampler

got kicked outta 2 colleges and ended up working 7 days a week at my dads gas station. Saved up all that money and finally bought a korg ES1 mkII, then a SP808ex to use as a multitrack and then the 2000xl, Korg ESX, Sampletrak, Yamaha su700, sp 505, a busted ass RS7000, and the worst machinery...

    MPC vs Roland...my two cents

^^ I'm sticking with 2000xl, esx, sampletrak, su700 all connected to the 808ex through a behringer mixer. I wanna see if any of these companies step up to the plate and actually release a workstation that resembles Ableton Live.

    MPC vs Roland...my two cents

I wanna sell my mv-8000, but its such a waste of money that I'd feel bad putting it on someone else. I hope this year someone releases a really sick sampling/drum machine/workstation.

The end of my MPC era

i guesstimate in 8-10 years that there will be hardware that will mimic stuff like Ableton Live pretty well. Hopefully at least 2-3 effects on each tracks usable at the same time.

    Which is better?

lmao @ getting the 2500 over the 8000. Your homies smoke crack. Anyone who pays more than 800 dollars for a 2500 and more than 500 dollars for a 2000xl has lost. I paid 1260 for a brand new 2000xl, and I lost. But I do love the machine though.

    Equipment questions...

Midi Controller I would recommend is the M-Audio Axiom series. They have semi-weighted keys, it aint no deal breaker though, so check those out.

    Advice on the mc808....and microphones...?

The thing that turned me off about the 808 is the fact that all the editing and ish has to be done through the computer, which is a big no no for me. I dont mess with vocals, so I'm sorry I cant recommend which microphone would be best.

    mpc 1000 or mv-8000?

NAMM 2007 starts January 17th and there are rumors going around on the MVNation forums that Roland is going to release an updated version of the 8000. Id be so damn pissed if its a better version, cause I just dropped 1100 on a near mint 8000 off of ebay.

wow MPC 2000xl prices going ^

A note to any MPC virgin thinking about buying an MPC......If you pay $1260 dollars for a 2000xl like I did, ur a moron who just wasted ur damn money. The 2000xl is a beautiful instrument, and I would never ever sell it, but the thing is worth $700 tops. If anyone pays more, well then...

    korg es-1

I just got the ESX yesterday, havent even plugged it in yet. Was surprised to see that its bigger than the ES 1. Looking forward to using these two with the mv 8k.

    korg es-1

the quantise is definitely pretty annoying for me, but its not a deal breaker. Instead, I suppose it adds to the ES' uniqueness, and if u programmed in some drums using the pattern keys, you could come up with some fat and unique results.

    korg es-1

I got an ES 1. Amazing ass piece of machinery. If anyone is thinking about getting an ES 1 though, try to go for the ESX 1 instead if you can. I wonder if they're gonna release a successor to the ESX
