Lessons For Up & Coming Producers

Man, this thread has been crazy. I feel like some people took what I was saying and turned it around, and people seem to make way to many false assumptions. For Format, Kevin and others: I DO own an MPC, and I DO use a PC with Fruity Loops, Acid, Sound Forge, Reason and alot of soft synths...

Lessons For Up & Coming Producers

Ya, I found a couple of interviews saying that 9th used FL and Cubase for everything he's ever done. I guesse I was wrong, and shit, I thought my source was so creditable. It just goes to show you that you shouldn't ever believe everything that gets said via word of mouth.

Lessons For Up & Coming Producers

First, when I said hardware based gear, I meant any piece of equipment that dosen't use a PC to work. Next, the reason the swing is different on your sp1200 then on Cubase, Reason or FL etc..., is because of the SOFTWARE that the sp1200 uses. Cubase uses the HARDWARE of your computer to run the...

    Kanye West MTV show

The ASR-X is the sampler( very similar to an MPC), while the ASR-10 is the sampling keyboard. My boy has a ASR-10 that he got off of E-Bay for like 150 bucks. Its great cause he'll use it as a midi controller for Reason or other soft synths, then record the computers audio outputs out to the...

A hip-hop how to: Remix Magazine article

Thanks, I thought this was hands down one of the most informative articles on making beats I've read in a long while. I just had to post it for every one.

Opps, I wasn't trying to start another software vs. hardware war, I was just tring to point out that there is no actual difference between hardware and software at all. Hardware is controlled by software. If you open up a computer you will find the same exact hardware that you would find if you...

Lessons For Up & Coming Producers

A MPC won't work without sofware. Software is what makes the MPC control the hardware. An MPC is just a dummed down computer with a very small screen. Using a computer running acid and controling it with midi triggers is the same technollogy as a MPC. I'm tired of people acting like a MPC is...

Lessons For Up & Coming Producers

The fact is, that most big time producers have well over a thousand dollars worth of equipment. So if one wants to actually make beats that big time artists or especially underground artists will actually use for there cd's or demos, then one must get the needed equipment to compete. Like GOD...

Lessons For Up & Coming Producers

I am a proffesional producer and I don't think some one's beats will be any better on higher end software, on a creative level, but they will make your beats sound more proffensional. But if you really want to make your beats sound more commercial, I think the only way to go is a MPC or like...

    Help!

No offense Producer GyaL, but when the verse part goes into the hook with the sped up vocal, it dosen't come in on beat. Its just slightly off.

I got a question for all remixer's man

I use Acid 4.0 to remix acapellas with beats. Its so easy 'cause Acid automatically changes both tracks to what ever tempo you want. But if you want to remix someone singing instead of rapping its alot harder 'cause you might have to re-tune the beat or singer.
