Freestyle these days means a pre-meditated rhyme over a beat. usually a industry track. yeah. another way the art of emceein is dyin out.
the "all time' argument has been done to death here. at the end of the day its based on personal opinion. as far as Pac goes...dude was a incredible writer. Wether hip hop or spoken word. But as an emcee he was average. as a rapper he was great. I was a fan of Pac before he got into the thug image. The "brenda" joint is probably my favorite pac track.

But look , just for chrissakes around here just give Em his due, dude is a great rapper.

KRS? You wont find a bigger scholar of the rhyme style, how ever then we look at Rakim AG Ultramagnetic,LL, Beastie Boys, Big L,Wu, and RedMan and so on and so forth, the point is reach for being the best as a mc thats all you ever have to do (along with studying the greats.)

Pac wrote some of hip hop's most incredible records during what you refer to as his "thug image"...I gotta add that is pretty off base though, do you remeber his first album? The tracks, the cover....you mean to tell me pac wasnt portraying a "thug" image off rip? Be for real.
Back to the records though, dude would insert scathing social commentary into party records...Something krs and public enemy used to do well. Fuck it though your bias is obvious, just wanted to make those points for everyone reading.
